Prediction of Temperature Profile in Oil Wells
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
A mathematical model has been developed to predict the temperature distribution in wellbores either offshore or inshore. It is incorporated the different activities encountered during drilling operations. Furthermore, the effect of drill collar and casings and bit rotating in a well during completion has been considered. The two dimensional approach is presented in the form of a computer program which is adopted for solution of the finite difference equations describing the heat transmission in the wellbore in the form of a direct solution technique. The power law mode l has been selected for drilling mud and its indices have been calculated. Comparing measured data, recorded for a period of 82 hours during different activities in a drilling operation for 15/20A-4, an exploration well in the Central North Sea with calculated results, show there is a good agreement between the prediction and measured temperatures in the wellbore.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
prediction of ignition delay period in d.i diesel engines
a semi-empirical mathematical model for predicting physical part of ignition delay period in the combustion of direct - injection diesel engines with swirl is developed . this model based on a single droplet evaporation model . the governing equations , namely , equations of droplet motion , heat and mass transfer were solved simultaneously using a rung-kutta step by step unmerical method . the...
Prediction of Temperature Profile of a Buried Gas Pipeline Through Utilization of Corresponding States Principle
A new analytical equation for prediction of temperature profile of a buried gas pipeline is developed. Utility of this equation is illustrated by its application to corresponding states principle. The resulting equation is tested through prediction of the actual Schorre data. It is shown that the new equation can predict temperature profile more accurately than the others without using any char...
متن کاملThe integrity of oil and gas wells.
Public concerns about oil and natural gas extraction these days inevitably turn to hydraulic fracturing, where millions of gallons of water, sand, and chemicals are pumped underground at high pressures to crack open rocks. Hydraulic fracturing often occurs a mile or more down, far from the water we drink or the air we breathe. The focus for safety and environmental stewardship should often be s...
متن کاملClimate change Effects of Surface soil temperature profile in Ahwaz
In arid and semi-arid regions, soil surface warming is a considerable phenomenon causing a high thermal gradient which makes water flow intensely. The degree of soil temperature is effective on crop production, plant growth and soil microorganisms. In recent years, the ascending trend of temperature has been substantially noticed by researchers in the issues of pointwise climate change and at w...
